The story I wish I could write

Some minor SPOILERS ahead for Final Fantasy IX.

No particular reason behind this journal, just a thought that struck me and I wished to talk about.

I have written quite a few fan fictions for this site, but as many ideas that have made it into a new story, just as many have been discarded.

But there is one story I wish I had a good concept for writing, which i have turned in my head over and over, trying to find that hook or idea that I feel would allow me to make something off it.

It is a story focusing on Freya Crescent of Final Fantasy IX.

Final Fantasy IX is my favorite Final Fantasy game and Freya Crescent one of my favorite characters. Her personal story starts out harsh with her searching for her missing lover Fratley who left their home nation years before.

It only gets worse as the game goes on and though she has a breakdown at one point,Freya carries on through the game, staying strong in the face of the repeated tragedy that strikes her.

Even when she confirms her lovers survival she has to face that he has lost his memory, not remembering her, something that has yet to return by the end sequence.

It is tragic and for a long time I wished to continue this story past the ending in the game itself, give some closure to one of my favorite characters in videogames.

But I don't have much for the story beyond that desire which is what ultimately is why I have never taken an attempt at it. I just don't want to start such a project without a clear idea of what I could do with the story, what I want to do and why.

There are other aspects of Final Fantasy IX I might touch upon out of my love for the game, but few firm ideas.
