New day, new knowledge
It was midday in the valley of Avalar. The clouds had dispersed and the sun shone brightly illuminating the vivid red, yellow and brown colors on the leaves of the trees in the valley and creating a wonderful sight.
Two days had passed since the meeting with Demetrius. Cynder was lying on the edge of the plateau outside their cave. Spyro was also there standing near Cynder looking out over the valley. Over in the other end of the plateau Coldalar and Fliera was taking midday nap.
Cynder was watching Carx, Larshyr and Zera play around on the plateau. Right now they were trying to knock each other over and Cynder smiled at their constant attempts at this. She was amazed at their ability to stay happy and carefree even after what had happened. But then again they were still very young.
Cynder gave a small sigh. Her memories had returned in a steady stream ever since the meeting with Demetrius. Because of that it was hard for Cynder to keep her mind of Demetrius for long periods of time, but luckily Spyro was always close and comforted her whenever she needed it. But even so her she had been growing increasingly anxious as her memories returned.
Something was hovering just at the edge of her mind, something terrible that she and Demetrius had been creating, but she could not remember what no matter how hard she tried. She knew it was a threat, but she did not know what it was. All she had was pictures of a large hall filled with statues, but she did not remember where it was or even what it was and it filled her with fear.
This fear she also felt in the darkness inside her. Ever since Malefor´s defeat in Hyrule the darkness inside her had been largely dormant, only reacting when she called upon it or when she was very angry.
But now she could feel it again. The meeting with Demetrius had awakened it again and Cynder knew that it would try to consume her if she gave it the chance. But she was also determined not give it a chance; she had not been released from its dark influence so many years ago just to fall again.
She looked at Larshyr who had just knocked Carx over by tripping him with his tail. Larshyr had so far showed no signs of being influenced by darkness, but his element left no doubt that it was present inside him. But they needed to warn him at some point, warn him of what could happen if he was not aware. But not now, she would not burden him with any such things at this time. He needed as carefree a childhood as possible.
Cynder looked over at Spyro who was standing at the edge of the plateau and staring of too the west with a determined look upon his face. He looked regal and powerful as he stood there in the sun; he looked like he was ready to take on the world.
But Cynder knew his thoughts were entirely different. She had seen fear in his eyes during their time together since Demetrius had appeared. Spyro feared him, feared what kind of influence he held over her, but even more so he feared leaving her or their children alone as long as Demetrius was around.
Cynder rose to her feet and walked over to stand alongside him. There she put her wing over his back and he did the same with her. Together they just stood there and looked out over the valley, a valley they had lived in for close to 19 years now, 19 years which had already felt like twice as much.
Cynder did not know how long they stood like that, but suddenly she saw something on the horizon. A single dragon was heading their way from the east, north east, but it was still too far away to make out any details.
Spyro immediately removed his wing from Cynder´s back. "Wait here, I am going to go find out who it is" he said quickly and set off from the plateau before Cynder even had time to speak.
At first she wanted to go after him, but if it was Demetrius it would be best he never got close to her. But at the same time a small part of her also wanted to see Demetrius again. In the end she just stood back on the plateau struggling with her feelings.
"Where is father going?" asked Larshyr from behind Cynder. She turned around and saw that Carx, Larshyr and Zera had stopped playing and was standing behind her.
"A dragon is approaching the plateau, and Spyro went to find out who it is, sweetheart" answered Cynder and with a small smile.
"Is it that black dragon again?" asked Carx and walked forward to the edge to get a better view of Spyro and the unknown dragon. "Because if it is I have some things to tell him for making you cry, mother!" continued Carx blowing two small flames out of his nostrils.
Cynder did not answer but simply looked at Spyro who and the unknown dragon. The unknown dragon was now so close that she could see that it was a blue dragon and she sighed relived. But even as she did that a part of her also felt sad.
Soon enough Spyro and the unknown dragon flew back towards the plateau and as they approached Cynder recognized the very light blue color the young dragon's scales had and when he landed on the plateau she instantly greeted him. "Sceranu, What an unexpected surprise" she said if not with direct happiness, then at the very least with a certain amount of warmth.
"Greetings" said Sceranu with a smile.
"Wait you look familiar…" said Zera slowly as she looked upon the blue dragon and then her eyes widened in realization. "You are part of the Council of Elements, the dragon who got captured by Spyro and Cynder and later helped us against those apes!"
Sceranu looked down at Zera. "Indeed and you are the daughter of that red dragoness and blue dragon, what was their names?" said Sceranu.
"Fliera and Coldalar" said Fliera as both her and Coldalar walked over to the small gathering at the edge of the plateau. They had woken a just a minute earlier and seen Sceranu arrive.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, we never meet during the war" said Sceranu and bowed his head in greeting.
Fliera and Coldalar did the same in return. "We owe you thanks for protecting our little snowflake during the war" said Coldalar with a smile.
"Not at all, in my eyes I caused at least as much trouble as I helped out. But I welcome your thanks none the less" said Sceranu politely.
"Hey no need to be so modest. Even if we did not start out on the best terms you fought to protect our children and that is what matters" said Spyro with a broad smile.
"Yep" said Larshyr happily.
"Yeah we really gave those apes a whooping!" added Carx with a grin.
"If anything we owe you for the things you did and tried to do for us to make up for your earlier actions" added Cynder.
"Thank you" said Sceranu with a smile. It continued to amaze him the warmth and forgiveness they showed him even though he had attacked Vynin with every intention of killing her so many months ago. But his eyes had been opened since then.
"So how have things been lately?" asked Spyro happy to focus on something else than Demetrius.
"Hectic to say the least. As you know from when we separated I took my father's place as High Councilor of Elements and since then I have been trying to adapt our organization to the new times that are upon us, times brought on by you two" said Sceranu looking at Spyro and Cynder.
Zera, Larshyr and Carx went back to their games, as Spyro, Cynder, Fliera and Coldalar all lay down upon the plateau to talk.
"The Inner Council and Grundor back up around me and together we are trying to preserve the heart of our organization, but also live at peace with the purple dragon and the black dragoness and only act if you become a threat" told Sceranu. "No offense meant."
"None taken" replied Spyro.
"The changes have not gone as peacefully as I had hoped however. The apes have all but one small group broken away from our organization not accepting peace with the Guardians or you. They are being kept in check by Warfang's forces performing regular raids to make sure they are not rearming, but it is only a matter of time. Several dragons have also left us, but we are keeping tabs on them and it is nowhere near dangerous amounts. The Stonar have remained largely loyal however which is a great help" told Sceranu.
"Sounds like you are having a hard time" said Fliera with a great deal of sympathy.
"It is, I am not my farther, I lack his experience in handling all of this" said Sceranu with a note of sadness. "But Grundor is always there to support me when it gets hard for which I am grateful. But I cannot keep relying on him, he won't live forever and I will have to show him and my father that I can handle this" continued Sceranu with greater dedication and certainty.
Cynder looked at Sceranu thoughtfully. He was a little older than her and Spyro, but not much and just like them he had been involved in conflicts from an early age and forced to make his own decisions to what happened around him. But where She and Spyro had chosen to live in peace, he had chosen to take up the position expected of him even if he did not feel quite ready. It was admirable and she hoped things would work out for him.
"Sounds like you got your paws full, but tell me what brings you here if there are such troubles in the Council of Elements?" asked Spyro curiously.
"Something has happened which I was going to report to you and the Guardians. Normally I would send a messenger, but Grundor insisted I go personally so I could get away from the troubles of the Council for a time" said Sceranu.
"What is it that has happened?" asked Spyro.
"Two days ago three dragons was killed in the black tower in the crystal fields. They were found by one of our scouts who was in the area and he also saw two dragons leave the tower. One was a ruby red dragon and though he could make out no details from the distance he was from them, we have to assume it is Meltor" told Sceranu.
"Meltor" repeated Spyro with a low growl remembering the elder red dragon all too well.
"What about the other dragon? Any specifics on that one?" asked Coldalar.
"Only one thing, but that in itself is enough to worry. The other dragon was black according to the scout" said Sceranu grimly and looked over at Cynder.
"Demetrius" whispered Cynder her face quite pale and Spyro instantly moved closer to her.
"Demetrius?" asked Sceranu.
"Malefor's son" said Spyro.
A short explanation later Sceranu looked at the ground and sighed. "I can't even imagine how hard this must be on you" he said slowly and looked at Cynder.
"No you can't" replied Cynder silently.
They lay without saying word for a few minutes before Sceranu rose to his feet. "I will get going now, I need to report this too the Guardians. Want me to tell them about Demetrius too or should I leave that out for now?" asked Sceranu and looked at Cynder.
Cynder gave a small nod.
"I will do that then" said Sceranu and walked to the edge of the plateau, but before he set of he turned around. "By the way where is Vynin?" he asked curiously.
"She went to visit Gairu and Tehanu" said Spyro. "Could you do me and favor and go there and tell them what has happened too, if Meltor has allied himself with Demetrius this also involves them now."
"Off course Spyro" replied Sceranu.
He then said goodbye to Zera, Larshyr and Carx before flying off into the valley, heading north towards Gairu and Tehanu´s cave.

"You mean the egg's coming?!" Spyro asked. Cynder nodded as the guardians and elders arrived at their door. "Sweet ancestors it's coming! What do I do?"

Glacia and Ember stepped into the room while the others waited outside. Gravel was looking at the door when he felt something at his side. He looked down to see a mole breathing heavily. "Sir Gravel

Heartbreak
[POV Spyro]
Me and Cynder laid out in the lush, green fields of Avalar. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining. Barely a cloud in the sky. I probably could have enjoyed the hopeful day, if I wasn't mourning.
Ignitus........He sacrificed himself to get me and Cynder into the Burned Lands on that fateful day, after we failed to defeat the Destroyer. But, was there REALLY no other way? Maybe it could have turned out differently. Maybe there was a chance for the one who explained to me who I was, to be at my side right now.
But....there's nothing to do about it. Me and Cynder sat down under

Spyro: Dark Descendents pt.12
Spyro and Cynder awoke the next day eager to begin their new lives in the village. When the sun rose so did Spyro and Cynder. They both crept out of their houses making sure not to awaken their mothers. They got out and stretched their tired muscles out then ran to find each other. As they both came around the corner they hit each other head on.
"Ouch!" They said in unison as they rubbed their heads along with a bit of laughing.
They got up and hugged each other and Cynder asked, "Enjoy your night?"
"Yeah, but I prefer the daytime." Spyro replied.
"How so?" Cynder asked.
"I get to see you." He answered.
"Awww, aren't you the sweet
